Most of the questions we get aren't about the tests themselves - they're about who finds out. Here's the honest answer, step by step.
How a visit works
Four steps, most of them shorter than people expect.
Book privately
Call, email, or use the contact form. You'll never be asked to explain why you're coming in over the phone.
Come in for your sample
Most visits involve a quick blood draw and/or urine sample, usually done in under fifteen minutes.
We handle the lab work
Samples go to a certified lab for processing. You won't run into anyone from your workplace or neighborhood in a waiting room full of strangers.
Get your results privately
Results are shared directly with you, by phone or through a secure portal, never left on a voicemail or sent home in the mail.
What stays private
Front desk conversations
You'll never be asked to state your reason for visiting out loud in a waiting area. Intake forms are filled out privately.
Results delivery
We ask how you want to be contacted before you leave. Nothing is left on a shared voicemail or sent to your home unannounced.
Billing
If you use insurance, ask our front desk about how the visit will appear on a statement, and about self-pay options if that's a better fit.
Legal protections
As with any licensed healthcare provider, your medical records are protected under federal privacy law (HIPAA), and we don't share your information without your authorization except where the law requires it.
Common questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. You can book directly with us for any of our testing panels without a referral.
Will anything show up on my insurance statement?
If you use insurance, a visit will generally appear on statements the way any lab visit would. If that's a concern, ask our front desk about self-pay pricing when you book.
How will I get my results?
You choose how you're contacted when you book: a phone call, a secure online portal, or an in-person follow-up. We don't leave results on voicemail.
What if a result is positive?
We'll talk you through what it means, what treatment looks like, and help you figure out next steps, including partner notification support if you want it.
Do you test people without symptoms?
Yes. Most of the people we see have no symptoms at all. Routine screening is the most common reason people come in.
